Tutorial: Creating Reactive Water in UE4 and UE5

The author explains the method which is available for free, in contrast with quite costly UIWS and other similar solutions, giving artists an opportunity to see if they need to have reactive water for their projects.

The basic idea behind the feature that the author shows is having several render targets which are written inside one material allowing to switch between the targets to modulate the spreading of the wave circle. The author thoroughly explains the entire process from start to finish covering the work with temperature and textures, and post-process that uses depth masks. He also delves into showing how to cover the proper shape inside the water and demonstrates how to get a more precise sharp effect.
