In order to bring firetop mountain alive and in 3D, Tin Man Games has decided to focus on miniatures. They have collaborated with a company in the UK called Otherworld Miniatures that creates pewter figurines that they scan into the computer and then digitally paint to replicate that feeling of a true handpainted model, much like the game pieces you would have at home.

For more of the unique inhabitants of Firetop Mountain and other hero characters or creatures that don’t have pewter figurines, Tin Man Games will model and texture them from scratch.

They’ve created also created a miniatures based combat system called GridBluff where you can actually battle your enemies in real-time combat. To make things more clear, it just means that you and your opponent move or attack simultaneously. Your enemies have a variety of attack patterns and you need to be able to anticipate their moves so you can use the right moves against them.
