The new device will be on sale from June 4th for $799
HTC revealed their new Vive Pro 2, the next version of the company's high-end virtual reality headset. The upgrade will feature a new display with 5K resolution (2448 × 2448 pixels per eye), a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 120-degree field of view. The original headset from 2018 featured a 2880 x 1600 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 110-degree field of view.
The new headset is also said to support Display Stream Compression, a visually lossless standard from high-end monitors, delivering "minimal motion blur." The meshed lines from older VR headsets, aka the screen door effect, have been "virtually eliminated", according to the team.
What is more, the device will offer adjustable straps, quick-adjust sizing dials, plus adjustable interpupillary distance (IPD). You can learn more and pre-order the device today here.
