Ubisoft Confirmed Beyond Good & Evil 2 "Is Still In Development"

As the Beyond Good and Evil franchise celebrates its 20th anniversary with the release of the 20th Anniversary Edition today, the developer has also provided a generous update on the nearly-forgotten Beyond Good & Evil 2, saying 

Beyond Good and Evil 2 was first teased in a trailer in 2008. After approximately ten years of rumors and leaks, the game was finally announced during E3 2017. The publisher revealed that the game would be a prequel to the original title.

The official website of the game is there, with the latest news being one from July 2020, almost 4 years ago and it assured fans that “Beyond Good and Evil 2 is well underway.” But it's not fair to say we are entirely without news during this period. In July 2022, industry insider Tom Henderson claimed that playtesting of the game had already started, giving fans false hope that an announcement regarding the release window would soon follow.
