Beyond Good and Evil 2 Has Reportedly Started Playtesting

Industry insider Tom Henderson claims that the playtesting has already started which could mean that the release date could soon be provided to fans.

Ubisoft's Beyond Good and Evil 2 has reportedly started playtesting which could mean that we will probably finally learn the release date soon.

The news comes from well-known leaker and insider Tom Henderson who recently tweeted that playtesting has started and the game is "very much alive." If the rumor is true, more details about the title are expected in the near future, so Henderson has started to gather fans' questions that he is going to reply to in a separate tweet or an article.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 was first teased with a trailer in 2008 and, after about ten years of rumors and leaks, it was announced during E3 2017 where the publisher revealed the game would be a prequel to the original title. However, the game later almost disappeared from the public's attention.

Henderson previously claimed that work on Beyond Good & Evil 2 is going poorly citing "a lack of creative direction" which was partly influenced by the departure of Michel Ancel in 2020. Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot, however, stated at the time that the game was "coming along very well".

In early July, the company also officially confirmed that the long-anticipated action-adventure game was still in active development and opened a number of jobs for the upcoming title.
