10 GB of Foodfight! Video Game Materials Released

Cat Daddy Games' title was never completed, but you can see what it would look like.

The concept for the Foodfight! movie about food mascots took 15 years to appear on screens and became a huge failure. But did you know there was a video game in the making back at the beginning of the 2000s?

While it was never finished, you can now check out what it was about in the 10 GB folder of materials, which don't include the game or its code but give a nice idea of what could have been with references, game assets, footage, sound effects, and more.

The Foodfight! game was first in the hands of Midway Games West but then moved to Cat Daddy Games, who shared the documents. Meant to be distributed by 2K, it was being developed for Wii, PS2, Xbox, and DS, according to its producer Phil Mikkleson, who didn't know it came out as a movie but was sure back then it wouldn't see the light of day as a game.

Cat Daddy Games had worked mostly on tycoons, and Foodfight! was supposed to be its first big project. However, the work at Threshold Digital Research Labs, which animated and produced the movie, didn't go well. Eventually, the game was canceled in early 2008.
