Since the last time we shared The Spirit of the Samurai demos exactly a year ago, the game has gone through some changes and now aims for a PC and Atari VCS release this summer.
For those who missed this news, The Spirit of the Samurai is an epic adventure with metroidvania elements developed by Digital Mind Games. You get to experience a meticulously crafted ancient Japan filled with mythology and folklore and battle undead monsters and demons, all rendered in a unique 2D Ray Harryhausen-esque stop-motion style.
The player assumes the roles of Takeshi, a Japanese samurai who has to protect his village, a tiny Kodama forest spirit, and a warrior cat named Chisai, with each character offering unique ways to interact with the world, from intense sword combat to precise platforming and exploration.
