Tech startup Jabbr has introduced DeepStrike, a computer vision AI for combat sports that is able to process any input video, measure various parameters for each boxer, and automatically generate statistics and analytics.
Artificial intelligence technologies are becoming more and more popular and are currently being used in an array of spheres including education, media and entertainment, healthcare, logistics, sports, and more.
In professional sports, for example, neural networks have been used for a considerable amount of time for analysis, statistical tracking, and identifying violations. The use of neural networks has transformed the landscape of professional sports in recent years and has opened up new opportunities for tech startups to create innovative solutions for various kinds of sports.
One such startup is called Jabbr and it is on a mission to revolutionize the world of combat sports. The company's employees have spent two years researching the ways of implementing AI into sports like boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, and more and developed, as they say, "the world's first Computer Vision AI specifically designed for combat sports" called DeepStrike.
According to Jabbr, DeepStrike is able to measure 50 parameters for each boxer, including punch types, quality, footwork, aggression, pressure, and more, and, based on this data, automatically generate statistics and analytics.
Jabbr claims that its Computer Vision AI is easy to use as it works on any input video, both professionally-shoot and amateur, regardless if the video is recorded with a professional camera or a smartphone. According to the startup, with DeepStrike, just a couple of smartphones can be transformed into a virtual video production crew with camera tracking, round highlights, punch stats, and more.
