After serving as the prominent face of AMD's Radeon division for seven years, Scott Herkelman has revealed his departure from the company, which will take place at the end of 2023. Scott's departure coincides with his notable contribution to AMD's latest release of the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT graphic cards, serving as an appropriate conclusion to his time at the company.

Herkelman announced his departure on Twitter, where he expressed his gratitude towards everyone he had the opportunity to work with. He mentioned that he would miss each and every one of them. Along with that, Herkelman wished his soon-former colleagues to "beat the final boss".

"I will miss every single one of you, fighting shoulder to shoulder in the trenches together, the excitement we shared during new product launches, and the joy of being in the arena for this wonderful, vibrant industry. May you continue to punch above your weight class and one day… beat the final boss."

While Herkelman didn't share his future plans, it's certain that someone with his experience will effortlessly secure a senior position in the tech industry, whether it is related to graphics or any other field.

Some more news on the latest departures, Glen Schofield, the founder of Striking Distance Studios, is also leaving the studio. However, in this case, it was apparently after the failed release of their debut game, The Callisto Protocol.
