The fluid solver is up to 20% faster now and sports some new features.

Theory Accelerated has released Axiom 3.2, the latest version of the sparse GPU-accelerated volumetric fluid solver for Houdini.
This is mainly a performance-focused update, with some handy features added. Matt Puchala promises around a 10-20% solver speed increase and says that writing out VDBs is now 20% faster.
Speaking of VDBs, Axiom now outputs VDBs on subframes and will "floor" to the nearest subframe: "If you have 2 substeps and go to frame 1.6, it will output the volumes for frame 1.5, on frame 2.1 it will output volumes for 2.0, etc."

In addition, you can source an arbitrary field to drive control ramps on forces as well as lower or increase the maximum number of advection trace steps.
Other than that, the developer has updated API and OS support, added which Houdini version you need if yours isn't compatible, included a new profiling tab on the solver node, fixed some bugs, and more.
You can use the non-commercial version of the software for free with Houdini Apprentice or Educational in trial mode. The Indie license costs $99/year, and the Commercial license is $199/year. The solver also has a standalone app for iPad and Mac with Apple silicon.
