A huge step in the four-year fight with Apple.
Epic Games
Fortnite fans, rejoice! The game is back on iOS four years after Apple removed it from the App Store for promoting its own payment system.
Here's a little recap. Following the removal by both Apple and Google, Epic Games started an epic legal battle against both, accusing them of antitrust behavior. Google gave in under the pressure from the court, but Apple was more resilient.
At the beginning of the year, Fortnite returned to iPhones in the EU after Apple was forced to allow third-party marketplaces, but the company decided to introduce a €0.50 fee for "each first annual install per year over a 1 million threshold."
Moreover, Apple blocked Epic Games' developer account later but promised to activate it after the European Commission turned its gaze on the company again.
In July, Epic announced it would bring Fortnite back to iOS in the EU via the Epic Games Store, and this day has finally come.
"Today the Epic Games Store is available for download on iPhones in the European Union and on Android devices worldwide. The store is launching with Fortnite, Rocket League Sideswipe and the all-new Fall Guys for mobile, and we are working to enable all developers to launch their games and apps through the Epic Games Store in the future. We are also bringing our games to independent mobile stores including AltStore PAL today," said Epic.

Mobile players can now unlock the Katalina Outfit and other stuff by completing quests. To install the game on iOS, you must have iOS 17.6 or higher, pass Apple’s region check for European Union customers, open Safari or Brave, and go to the Epic Games Store.
