Baldur's Gate 3's Deeply Hidden Mini Quest Found by 1,400-Hour Player

The only way to deal with unpredictable players is to be even more unpredictable.

It’s been almost a year since Baldur’s Gate 3, which swept multiple important awards, was released last August. While many players have completed the main story or ended the game, the easter egg hunt is far from over.

Recently, a discovery of “insanely hidden secrets”, described by video creator Proxy Gate Tactician as something “no normal person would ever come across,” was fully shown in this video (thanks, PC Gamer).

The Netherstones, key to battling the main villain Netherbrain, are undeniably important. Proxy Gate Tactician explored what happens if you lose these stones in a one-time visit dungeon, like the timed explosive Iron Throne. Surprisingly, instead of an instant game over, Larian created a mini-quest to recover them.

It even shocked him that “after 1400 hours played,” he could still find these carefully hidden efforts by Larian, showcasing how diligently they worked to create these backup fail-safes to prevent players from unwittingly breaking the game.
