Tom Henderson, known for sharing details about the Call of Duty franchise, recently provided some insights into the next installment of Call of Duty: Black Ops. According to Henderson's sources, some missions in the game will take place in an open world inspired by Far Cry. Players will have the ability to explore large areas and use various vehicles, with a fast travel system also available.

While some missions will be linear, the exact number of these is still unknown. Henderson also noted that the campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War was developed from scratch and does not reuse assets from previous games.

Adding to that, the reporter confirmed that Treyarch is responsible for the game's multiplayer aspect, while Raven Software is in charge of the storytelling.

Speaking of the release date, the shooter is slated for launch in October and will take place during the early 1990s Gulf War. However, further details about the game's storyline and mechanics have not yet been revealed.

Henderson also shared that future Call of Duty titles, including the codenamed Saturn set in a near-future setting, will also feature spacious locations. Well, who knows what we'll get in the end, lots of things might change, as there are still nearly two years until their release.
