Some changes will also arrive in September.

Selling your assets on Blender Market has become more expensive thanks to the changes the website implemented on July 15. As noticed by Sanctus, a prominent procedural artist and the creator of Sanctus Library, the company has suddenly increased the subscription cost for new Ultimate accounts and overall fees for users registered after July 15.
Here are the changes:
- the monthly charge for new Ultimate users skyrocketed from $150 to $199;
- the Basic and Pro plans have been combined into the $49 Pro plan, but existing Basic users will keep their option;
- the Merchant Fee changed from 4.5% to 5.5% for Free creators, from 3.5% to 5.0% for Pro ones, and from 3.0% to 4.0% for Ultimate users, according to the archive page from March;
- all Transaction Fees are now $0.49 instead of $0.38;
- the Commission Rate for Free accounts stayed at 70%, but Pro users will get 80% of the sales instead of 85%, and Ultimate plans move from 95% to 90%.
These changes have already been applied for new accounts, but existing plans will implement new Commission Rates on September 2, with Basic subscribers getting 75% of profits. Subscription prices will not be replaced for existing users as long as their plans stay active.
This, of course, doesn't look too good for artists who sell their creations on Blender Market. For example, Gumroad takes 10% off every purchase, with no additional charges, although you can bump your products up with the Discover feature, the fee for which starts at 30%.
