Blender Procedural City Generator ICity 1.1.0 Is Out

Hothifa Smair's add-on has been upgraded to deliver ten times faster performance, support for GLB and USD exports, optimized rendering, and more.

Technical Artist Hothifa Smair's ICity, a tool for artists to design detailed cityscapes using a rich asset library, which we've been eagerly following prior to its successful May launch, has now received its first major update.

With the new support for GLB/USD export, seamless integration with other DCC software is now possible. Additionally, the new Convert to Mesh Copy feature lets users generate a mesh copy of the city while preserving the procedural system, offering greater control and flexibility for modifications.

ICity 1.1.0 has received a significant performance boost and rendering optimization, claiming to operate up to ten times faster due to a complete system overhaul.

A new Empty Block option has been introduced, giving users greater control over city layouts and customization. Moreover, a building seed feature and a controller for adjusting building light intensity have been added, offering further customization possibilities.

Finally, the release addresses multiple bugs, fixing issues with scaling, proxy mode, intersections, and more. Check out some of the works created with ICity by different artists:
