If you've ever wondered how fast your object is traveling or had to calculate it during the previsualization stage, don't worry, you can do it now in just one click with this new Blender add-on.
Speedometer is a very simple and handy tool for any animators who need to figure out exactly how fast their object is going at any given frame. All you need to do is select an animated object and hit Calculate Speed.
After that, the result will appear next to your selected object. You can even adjust the frame span to get an average speed across the span of the frames that you pick.
Animation and Visual Effects Artist Hansen, the developer of this add-on, warns that sometimes it generates a result of Zero. This is due to the object's relationship being a bit more complicated than one can anticipate.
The quick solution would be to manually bake the animation of the object until you can see visible keyframes on the timeline when this object is selected.
Speedometer supports Blender 4 and above, includes an installation guide and a future features wishlist. It's available on Blender Market at $8.
