Mateusz Kanik, who worked on The Witcher 2 and Cyberpunk 2077, decided to leave the studio.
CD Projekt RED Design Director Mateusz Kanik left the studio after 15 years. He didn't specify the reason behind his decision only saying "something ends, something begins." Seems like the newly self-employed game developer will not be idle for long as he's already found something else to do.
Kanik joined CD Projekt RED Design back in 2006 starting as a Junior Game Designer on The Witcher. He then worked on The Witcher 2 as a Lead Gameplay Designer and on Cyberpunk 2077 as a Game Director. Until recently, he has been a Design Director and a Principal Designer in the studio.
Kanik is not the first to leave CD Projekt RED, previously the company lost its lead gameplay designer Andrzej Zawadzki and the Cyberpunk 2077 director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.
