In a recent talk with investors, CD Projekt Red CFO Piotr Nielubowicz shared some thoughts on in-game microtransactions.
Nielubowicz stated that the company doesn't envision incorporating microtransactions into single-player games. However, CDPR might actually implement them in their multiplayer ventures down the line.
"We do not see a place for microtransactions in the case of single-player games," stated Nielubowicz, providing an answer for one of the investors. "But we do not rule out that we will use this solution in the future in the case of multiplayer projects."
When asked by an investor about potential price hikes for their games amidst escalating development expenses, Nielubowicz said that it was a little bit early to discuss such adjustments. The company is actively monitoring market conditions and pricing trends in the industry.
In addition to what was mentioned above, the company is not planning to release its games on consoles first and then on PC after further development.
Also, on March 29, we reported on CDPR's strong sales numbers achieved thanks to the beloved Cyberpunk 2077, which, together with its DLC, generated over $752 million.
