Check out Adorable Duck's Procedural Movement in This New Footage

Quack!

Twitter user RobotGrapefruit, a Toronto-based game developer, has shared footage of procedural movement in a game, featuring a charming little duck. The clip shows the duckling navigating around blocks and hills while dealing with falling obstacles. With its darting eyes and busy little feet, the duck appears to be actively exploring its surroundings. The design and movement of the duck are impressively adorable.

Details about this project, which we'll refer to as the "Untitled Duck Game" until it has an official title or codename, remain sparse. It seems the development began back in 2020, as indicated by early-stage footage showing physics-based movement for the baby bird character.

The comparison between the two posts, four years apart, clearly demonstrates significant growth in both graphics and animation. The developer commented, "I think the subtleties really help sell it, so it's been a big part of my focus." We will continue to monitor the game's development and share with you for any future updates.
