Korean video game developer Pearl Abyss shared new footage for their upcoming open-world RPG.
Right before this year’s Gamescom, Pearl Abyss, the Korean game developer behind the highly-anticipated open-world RPG Crimson Desert, spoiled the fans with a seven-minute gameplay trailer featuring the protagonist’s battle with the White Horn Boss. Be prepared for the blood splash towards you:
First announced in 2019, Crimson Desert was designed as a prequel to Black Desert Online, a sandbox MMORPG by the same developer. However, the team eventually decided to make a single-player game set in the same universe.
The development of the game was not going very smoothly, and it was once delayed indefinitely in 2021 during the pandemic, as the studio wanted to ensure “the health and safety of everyone involved in delivering the game.” Some players even believed the project was canceled. Luckily, it wasn’t the case, as an official gameplay trailer was released at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, giving us a sneak peek at the game’s gameplay mechanics, visual style, animations, and more.
