They put Switch on your Steam Deck so you can play Switch while you play Deck.
Dbrand has released a "SwitchDeck" skin for Steam Deck that makes the handheld look like Switch. The sticker with a blurred logo will cost you $49.95, and you'd better hurry before Nintendo hears of it and takes action.
But it doesn't seem that Dbrand is worried too much: "Lawyers we paid to say ‘it’s legal’ said it’s legal," Dbrand spokesperson Danny told The Verge.
"For years, countless blogs have clickbaited millions into believing that a "Switch Pro" was just around the corner. One Switch Lite and a Switch OLED later, we decided to tackle the problem ourselves. After stockpiling a considerable amount of ammunition, our lawyers quietly remarked how they would prefer if we abandoned the mercenary plot and instead went back to shameless plagiarism. Unfortunately for the blog writers, we know how to multitask."
It wouldn't be the first time Dbrand had to take down a product because a big company didn't like it: in 2021, it stopped selling PS5 side plates after Sony threatened to sue it.
Let's hope it doesn't happen this time. Meanwhile, check out SwitchDeck here and don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform, our Reddit page, and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
