According to recent reports, it looks like Bungie might be working on Destiny 3.
As one Reddit user has recently shared, the third entry might be codenamed Payback, and the developers are reportedly planning to move away from the traditional class structure, allowing players to independently choose from all available skills. This change is said to be tied to an expansion of the game's lore, which will be enhanced with the introduction of a new subclass.

However, uncertainty looms as the information was sourced from former Bungie employees, and as we all perfectly know, things can change.
Bungie's recent announcement of The Final Shape expansion for Destiny 2, initially planned for February 27, has been delayed to June 4, 2024, to ensure a satisfying conclusion to the game's plot.
During the presentation of new details about the expansion on April 9, developers discussed the introduction of a new subclass and much more.
