You're going to be there for a while.
Joseph Piepiora, Diablo 4 Associate Game Director, has disclosed that reaching level 100 in the game will take over 150 hours "for the average player experience."
Some people in the comments were not very happy to hear this, saying it made the game less appealing, especially considering there are 5 classes you might want to try.
Later, Community Development Director Adam Fletcher also mentioned that you can skip the campaign if you complete it once, so this is one trick to make your 150 hours shorter. Lead Quest Designer Don Adams added to the topic, saying every character can skip it at the creation step or any time after.
"Want to play just up to your favorite part of the story or to grab a specific quest reward before skipping to the endgame activities? Go for it."
So if you want to max out all of the classes, there are some shortcuts. Maybe we will learn about others in time. And don't worry, you will not play the game until you're old as previously, Piepiora said Diablo 4 has a final boss you might want to beat.
