Escape from Tarkov's Latest Major Update on PvE Outraged Players

A new disaster brought by smarter AI. 

Battlestate Games is facing backlash after implementing a major update to Escape from Tarkov's PvE mode. The update, which included a shift to a local PC from a centralized server for solo players, aimed to reduce match wait times. While successful in this regard, the modification has sparked a series of issues negatively impacting the player experience. 

The update not only introduced offline PvE changes, but also altered the behavior of AI characters in the game's "player-vs-environment". This has resulted in unpredictable AI movements that have left players struggling with the new dynamics. Notably, the update incorporated a "homing AI" feature causing AI enemies, including "Scavs" and Private Military Company (PMC) characters, to aggressively track down player locations.

Many players report an unrealistic alliance among AI enemies and an alarming increase in the number of PMC characters appearing on maps. These AI characters now show improved battle strategies and aren't afraid to face players.

Additionally, the transition to offline PvE appears to have compromised the performance of the base game, with players experiencing frequent frame rate drops on certain maps and some complained they have to wait for 2 to 3 minutes to "load out of raids."
