The Last of Us: Escape the Dark will let the players make choices about which route to take and resolve ‘chapter cards’ at familiar locations from the video game.
Naughty Dog has announced The Last of Us tabletop game. The Last of Us: Escape the Dark is developed by Themeborne, the creators of the Escape the Dark series.
"Themeborne’s games include some seriously beautiful black-and-white illustrated chapter cards that players work to resolve together, overcoming challenges and creating new paths each time they play so no two games are quite alike."
The game offers 1 to 5 players to take the roles of Ellie, Joel, Tess, Bill, Tommy, or Marlene and create their own story of survival and companionship while exploring an open-world map.
The players will make choices about which route to take and resolve ‘chapter cards’ at familiar locations, including the Suburbs, Sewers, and University. They will have to rely on the combination of item cards and custom dice to overcome threats like Hunters and Infected.
On a journey of personal growth, each player will try to unlock their full potential while fighting for their life using a "simple, satisfying crafting and weapon upgrade system" and tactical thinking.
"I’ve been a massive fan of Themeborne's Escape the Dark board games!" said Neil Druckmann, Co-President of Naughty Dog. "Escape the Dark Castle grabbed me with its bold black & white illustrations, compelling RPG mechanics, and interesting narrative choices. ... Now I couldn't be happier to see their game design continue to evolve with The Last of Us! We're excited to see Joel, Ellie, and more of our beloved characters take on new life through stunning artwork and mechanics that immerse players in the world of The Last of Us."
The Last of Us: Escape the Dark's Kickstarter campaign will start on November 8. Support the developers here and don't forget to join our Reddit page and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
