WolfEye Studios, a new game development studio led by a duo of ex-Arkane Studios industry professionals responsible for Dishonored and Prey, is reportedly pitching its new title at Game Developers Conference.
Back in 2019, Arkane Studios' ex-creative director Raphaël Colantonio and former executive producer Julien Roby launched WolfEye Studios, a new game development studio dedicated to working on titles with rich gameplay possibilities, immersion, and prominent art direction.
Both of them have quite impressive backgrounds and experience in the industry, Raphaël Colantonio worked at Arkane for 18 years and was responsible for such games as Dishonored and Prey, while Julien Roby spent 11 years at Arkane and most recently worked on Mafia III and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel at 2K.
WolfEye Studios' debut title, Weird West, an immersive dark fantasy reimagining of the Wild West, arrived in March 2022. The reception was mixed, however, mostly related to clunky combat, but the charismatic narration, interactive game world, and captivating art style made Wild West stand out in a genre far from being unique.

Last year, WolfEye Studios announced its partnership with Galaxy Interactive, a venture capital fund that was going to help the studio develop its new IP. Finally, after all this time we got a glimpse of what this project is going to be like.
According to Raphaël Colantonio, the duo is currently pitching the studio's second game at GDC in San Francisco. Both in the tweet above and his next one featuring WolfEye Studios' narrative designer Lucas Loredo, "Retro sci-fi RPG, First Person" can be clearly seen on a monitor and the whiteboard. "Sneak Peek into our Austin office where we are hard at work on our next game", says the caption.
While it's unknown how long it'll be before WolfEye Studios officially announces its new game, it's surely interesting to see how the team transitions from Weird West's top-down perspective to a first-person in a sci-fi setting and what bold art style ideas they're gonna bring out this time.
