Familiar levels in a new wrapping.
I'm sure most of you feel a deep sense of nostalgia when you think about Tomb Raider. The series' first games can be considered classic, and while Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics are working on the remasters, I suggest you take a look at another version of the famous adventure.
The game's fan Delca thought it was a great idea to turn Tomb Raider 2 into a 3D side-scroller, and I can't argue with that. He presented its gameplay in a range of levels, including Lara's Home, the Great Wall of China, Venice, the Offshore Rig, the Wreck of the Maria Doria, Barkhang Monastery, the Floating Islands, and Home Sweet Home.

In this version, Lara Croft can only move forward and backward. While it's definitely a demake, meaning it's a downgrade of the original, the game doesn't become worse from it. It's still the same brave lady shooting enemies and showing off her acrobatic skills, just from another, more limited, side.
I'm not a big fan of side-scrollers, but this footage made me want to find my good old PlayStation 1 and spend some quality time back in childhood, right before the remasters of the first three parts come out on February 14.

This is not Delca's first endeavor to remake Tomb Raider. He has several levels from Legend and the Louvre Galleries from The Angel of Darkness ready to play here. The side-scrolling edition of Tomb Raider 2 is not complete yet, but I expect to see it soon considering how much work has already been done.
