The new update adds a number of features set to enable improved performance on PC.
Playground Games has revealed that its racing simulator, Forza Horizon 5, is going to get a major update soon. With the release of the update, the game will receive support for NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution as well as AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution 2.
The incorporation of AMD’s latest upscaling technology will provide a 4K rendered image using a 1080p frame buffer in Performance Mode. This technology is available for all PC GPUs including AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel. NVIDIA's DLSS technology performs the same function but, in addition, it improves frame rates at higher resolutions. The technology is exclusive to the NVIDIA RTX graphics cards.
The new Forza Horizon 5 update will also improve DirectX Raytracing with the addition of two new presets, Ultra and Extreme. The new ray-tracing settings support ray-traced car-based reflections across cars in Free Roam and Races modes. The two new modes also support ray-traced car reflections as well as realistic Drivatar reflections in Photo Mode.
The update will come out on November 8. In addition, Playground Games confirmed that the game's second expansion is already in development and more details on it will be revealed in early 2023.
