Google Showcased the Future of Google Maps

The upcoming features will allow the service's users to explore the world in a more natural and intuitive way.

During Google's Search On '22 event, the company provided an extensive look at the upcoming features it plans to implement in Google Maps, the company's web mapping platform. According to the presentation shared by Google, the soon-to-be-implemented features will allow the service's users to have a look at a 3D projection of a building from multiple angles, walk inside buildings, change weather conditions, and find the nearest points of interest with a camera, enabling them to explore the world in a more natural and intuitive way.

One of the coolest features the company plans to add is the upcoming possibility to view various landmarks in 3D from various angles, thanks to aerial photography, and predict the conditions at the site the next day, week, or month.

"So if you’re visiting San Francisco and want to visit Oracle Park, you’ll have all the information you need to plan your day," commented Google's Chris Phillips as part of the announcement. "You’ll be able to see where the parking lots and entrances are and if the weather will be chilly on game day so you can bring a jacket."

Another neat thing they will soon add to the service is the ability to enter buildings to, for example, have a look at a restaurant's interior to decide whether or not you would want to visit it. Coupling with the previous tool that would allow you to learn more about a place in the near future, you would also be able to learn how busy a place would be at a certain period.

And last but not least, Google plans to add the ability to view the world through a phone's camera AR-style, allowing you to see the nearest points of interest and find the ones that you need in a more quick and easy way.
