Howl's Moving Castle Fire Cooking Scene Recreated In Blender

Virendra "CGDASH" Kumar's new animation featuring Ghibli's Calcifer fire demon maintains the signature 2D-inspired 3D look.

It's hard to believe 3D NPR Artist Virendra Kumar's work is actually 3D because it looks incredibly close to the original and captures anime visuals perfectly.

Their 2D-inspired 3D aesthetic is on full display in both this Howl's Moving Castle cooking animation and a recently presented beautiful stylized environment, leveraging PBR, Shader Nodes, and vertex painting to achieve these color effects:
