Indiana Jones 5 Trailer Reveals Harrison Ford De-Aged to His Original Trilogy Appearance

Lucasfilm has released the first trailer of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny revealing Harrison Ford appearing as his age from the original trilogy.

The next film in the Indiana Jones series, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, has received a debut trailer giving us a short glimpse at the famous archaeologist's new adventure.

Previously, the film's director, James Mangold, already shared that the movie would feature a scene that will take place in the 1940s where Indy would appear as his age from the original trilogy. And now, the trailer reveals a part of this scene showing us a de-aged version of Harrison Ford.

To bring this younger version of Ford to screens, the team behind the movie used several de-aging techniques including new software from Industrial Light & Magic which looked through archived footage of the younger Ford and helped match it to the freshly-shot footage.

In an interview with Empire, Ford shared that seeing his younger self in the movie "spooked" him a bit, although he was impressed with the technology and admitted that it was the first time when seeing himself digitally de-aged felt really convincing.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is set to be released in theaters on June 30, 2023. It will be the first movie in the series that is not directed by Steven Spielberg, nor does it feature a story written by George Lucas.
