It is expected that loot boxes will generate $20.3 billion in profits by 2025, according to Juniper Research.
Juniper Research has conducted a study that showed that by 2025 loot boxes will generate more than $20 billion with an expected 230 million people, that's 5% of all gamers, that will have bought them.
According to the research, gamers from the Far East and China will bring the most profit for companies that integrate loot boxes in their games.
The study also showed that loot boxes brought $15 million in profits in 2020 alone and are expected to grow going forward by about 5% a year. However, Juniper Research claims that this growth will be getting slower and slower every year due to "consumers becoming fatigued with loot boxes and legislative constraints limiting the market."
