The studio will be led by veteran writer and producer Michael J. Cinquemani.
Fusebox Games, the developer behind the mobile title Love Island: The Game, announced it opens a new studio in Los Angeles. The new office will be led by writer and producer Michael J. Cinquemani who will take over a new role as a chief content officer.
Cinquemani is a veteran writer who contributed to various TV shows including The Vampire Diaries, General Hospital, and Brothers & Sisters. He also was a lead narrative designer on Jam City's Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. Prior to this, he worked as a story consultant and later manager and lead writer at a storytelling mobile platform Episode.
According to Fusebox CEO Wil Stephens, Cinquemani's appointment and establishment of the new LA office will provide the company's further expansion and facilitate building "relationships with TV studios in the UK and US".
Cinquemani added: "Our core goal at Fusebox Games is to entertain, so I’ll be looking for the best storytellers to grow both the narrative team in London and build the new team in LA from the vast talent pool available there. Together we'll create aspirational stories that give people an outlet to live, love, risk, and dream big."
He also noted that, apart from working on existing Fusebox titles, he intends to actively seek out new IPs and create new original games.
Fusebox Games was founded in 2016, and its best-known mobile game series Love Island currently has a player base of 25 million users worldwide with a number of monthly active users reaching 1.6 million.
