The title is supposedly being developed by a new Seattle-based studio led by former Monolith Productions VP and studio head Kevin Stephens.
Marvel's Black Panther game is reportedly in development and will be published by Electronic Arts. That's according to journalist and game insider Jeff Grubb who broke the news on his daily news show, Game Mess Morning, yesterday.
Grubb claims that the game is in the very early stages of development and is likely in the works at the new Seattle-based studio founded by former Monolith Productions VP and studio head Kevin Stephens. The new EA studio was founded last year. It doesn't have a name yet, but it is set to create an open-world action-adventure game.
The Black Panther game, according to Grubb, will be a single-player open-world game where the player takes on the role of a new Black Panther. The game starts with the death of T'Challa – the previous Black Panther played by Chadwick Boseman in Marvel movies, so the King of Wakanda will be replaced by a new character who will take the path of becoming a hero.
This new game will not feature live-service elements and instead will be similar to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Grubb noted that, apparently, with this Balck Panther game, EA wants to replicate the success of Respawn Entertainment's action-adventure title.
