Metallica Rocks Fortnite Festival Season 4 & New PvP Mode Introduced

American heavy metal band Metallica, winners of 10 Grammy Awards, is joining Fortnite for Festival Season 4. What comes along with this collaboration is a new mode in the game called Battle Stage.

Metallica will replace Billie Eilish as the main icons in the new season of Fortnite Festival. Players can enjoy Metallica's music in the new Festival Season, the Rocket Racing track, and the M72 World Tour stage in Battle Royale. 

The new Battle Stage mode is described by Epic Games as "a brand-new, musical PVP experience in Fortnite where 16 players enter, but only one emerges victorious." 

Songs are randomly selected from the Festival's featured rotation. Players, while all playing the same track, can choose their part and difficulty level to maximize their score. To ensure fairness, players cannot select any Jam Tracks they own. After each song, the four players with the lowest scores are eliminated, and this process continues until a single winner remains.

A very "strategic" part of this new mode is that, in the match, players can launch attacks against opponents to disrupt their scoring. These attacks are built up through Overdrive Phases. A trailer gives us a glimpse of the chaos and fun this new mode can bring:
