"The speculative pricing and investment mentality around NFTs takes the focus away from playing the game and encourages profiteering, which we think is inconsistent with the long-term joy and success of our players," the studio wrote. "We are also concerned that some third-party NFTs may not be reliable and may end up costing players who buy them."
In order to protect Minecraft players, Mojang introduced a set of rules. First of all, blockchain technologies are not permitted to be integrated inside Minecraft client and server applications. Besides, users are not allowed to create rare digital assets like worlds, skins, items, and mods in Minecraft using blockchain technology.
Mojang shared that there are no plans to implement blockchain in Minecraft in the near future, but said that the studio will monitor the development of the technology and see whether it will correspond to the principles of the game.
