This release completely overhauls the add-on for seamless integration with Houdini and introduces a range of new and updated modeling tools.
Launched by Alexey Vanzhula in 2018, Modeler for Houdini offers a complete set of mesh editing tools familiar to users of traditional 3D editors, combining them with Houdini's procedural capabilities for efficient and intuitive creation and editing of polygonal and subdivision meshes to streamline the modeling process.
Modeler 2025 for Houdini is a major update, featuring a complete overhaul of its core and tools. According to the developer, the main goal was to eliminate the separate, external UI and fully leverage Houdini's native features for tool interaction. Now, Modeler uses Houdini's radial menus, hotkeys, and shelf tools.

The add-on no longer feels like a separate program running inside another. Instead of activating Modeler mode to use the tools, all of those tools are now stored on shelves, making it possible to assign hotkeys to them in the standard way.
Modeler has received numerous updates to its toolset, including several new additions. Notably, two new tools – Sculpt Move and Sculpt Relax – utilize Houdini's new sculpting mode, activating sculpting in their specific functions while adhering to symmetry settings, unlike the standard sculpting tool.

The new retopology tool Draw Patch allows you to intuitively cover surfaces with patches, eliminating the need to manually create multiple polygons.
Like Blender's New Edge/Face from Vertices tool, the Face tool was redesigned to create polygons or edges from selected points or edges: simply select two points or one edge, and the tool will automatically locate the remaining points. The main tool of Modeler, PolyPen, has also been redesigned for even more convenient topology editing, providing smoother operations with a stylus.
