Modern Warfare 2 Operators, Weapons & Bundles Will Carry Over to Call of Duty 2023

The first official detail about the game.

Call of Duty fans are looking forward to the next game, and it's coming, but neither Activision nor Sledgehammer Games, which is supposedly working on it, don't share any significant details about it. Or hadn't until recently.

On Twitter, the official CoD account posted a poll asking players if operators, weapons, and bundles from Modern Warfare 2 should carry over into Call of Duty 2023/Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The interesting part is that the options are "Yes" and "Yes, when is reveal?" So it's pretty safe to say that the next game will have all this content. This never happens with mainline titles, which kind of confirms Jason Schreier's intel that this was supposed to be just a big MWII expansion.

The same account also later promised to bring "the first details about the [REDACTED] Reveal Event in the Season 05 Announcement and additional #MWII carry forward details soon."

Despite a lack of information about Call of Duty 2023, we know that it is a full premium release that will come "later this year" and continue the story from the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. Aside from titbits of official info, there are rumors about what's coming.

Twitter user xinput_ recently shared some leaks from the limited alpha playtest "most likely titled Hailström" stating that players will see the return of weapon blueprints and a classic minimap, scrapped content from Vanguard, and faster movement speed.

xinput_ then said the original leaker "got hit with a DMCA notice. ... The notice also referred to the 2023 title as 'Call of Duty Modern Warfare III'".

Hopefully, we'll get more details from Activision itself soon, especially with Microsoft's agreement to bring the franchise to Nintendo Switch – something the company apparently regretted not doing before.
