Capcom has released the fifth trailer, titled The Black Flame, for the game.
Capcom has announced that an open beta test for the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds will be held next week. This will allow players to dive into the Windward Plains four months before the final launch.
“The Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test includes three pieces of content: Character Creation, the Story Trial, and the Doshaguma Hunt. Traverse the Windward Plains to experience a changing ecosystem rife with opportunity,” writes Joseph Bustos, Social Media and Community Manager at Capcom USA.
PlayStation Plus members will enjoy exclusive early access to the beta best, which will be available from 28 October, 8 PM PT, to 30 October, 7:59 PM PT; for other players, the test is open from October 31st, 2024, 8:00 pm to November 3rd, 2024, 6:59 pm. All the participants will receive some gifts, i.e., “a Pendant and item pack that can be used to decorate their weapons and Seikret in the full release.”
Capcom has also presented The Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, which includes a detailed explanation of the open test and what players can expect to experience in each of the three parts. For example, players can create their own Hunter using the character customization feature, and the character creation data could be carried over to the full game; the story trial will let you experience the opening cutscene and “play through the Chatacabra hunt with basic tutorials;” in the Doshaguma Hunt, you’ll have the goal of defeating the alpha of the Doshaguma pack. What's even better, in the beta test, you can also team up with other online players or the bots if the matchmaking fails.
In addition to the upcoming open beta testing, the game also receives its fifth trailer (you can revisit the fourth and first trailers), titled The Black Flame, which introduces “the third locale in the Forbidden Lands, the Oilwell Basin” and showcases the new monstrous denizens of the area, including the ominous “Black Flame”:
Monster Hunter Wilds will be launched on February 28, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Pre-orders started already, offering the bonus items like the “Guild Knight Set” and the Talisman “Hope Charm.”
