MultiVersus Developer Acquired by Its Publisher Warner Bros. Games

"We feel that this will be great for MultiVersus overall. "

Warner Bros. Games has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Player First Games, the team behind the multiplayer platform fighter game, MultiVersus.

Player First Games will continue to be managed by co-founders Tony Huynh, head of Player First Games, and Chris White, head of technology. Both will now report to Carlos Barbosa, the vice president and studio head of Warner Bros. Games San Diego.

David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Games, expressed his delight over the acquisition, stating:

"We have worked with Player First Games over several years to create and launch ‘MultiVersus,’ and we are very pleased to welcome this talented team to Warner Bros. Games. The bright and creative team at Player First Games adds to our extensive development capabilities."

Tony Huynh of Player First Games also expressed his team's excitement about their new journey, saying:

"Our team is excited to join the Warner Bros. Games family, and we feel that this will be great for MultiVersus overall. We are working to make the MultiVersus game experience the best it can be and having our development team integrated with the publisher is optimum for the players."

MultiVersus

Despite having "mostly positive" all-time reviews, the game MultiVersus has been experiencing some struggles, as its recent reviews are "mixed" after returning from a year-long overhaul this May. Its "bug" of requiring players to pay real money to replenish lives during campaign missions has been met with criticism.
