A number of players shared they have canceled their Gotham Knights pre-orders following WB Montreal's reveal that the game will be locked at 30FPS on consoles.
Gotham Knights, the upcoming action RPG about the Batman Family, will be launched at the end of this week. However, only last week it became known that the game will be locked at 30FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The news became known after Gotham Knights' executive producer Fleur Marty wrote on the game's Discord channel that the title won't have a performance mode on consoles explaining that the game supports a fully untethered co-op experience which is why achieving 60FPS isn’t quite as straightforward as lowering the resolution.
Following this news, people apparently started to cancel pre-orders for the game (via The Gamer), with some players being dissatisfied with the fact that the game will not have as good a framerate as they hoped and some arguing that waiting until one week before the game launches to reveal that it will be capped at 30FPS was not a really decent move.
One player wrote: "Can’t decide if I am more disappointed by the fact it is only 30, or that they were clearly trying to keep that a secret until reviews drop."
"Just canceled my Gotham Knights pre-order for Xbox. I just can't accept the fact that the game will be playable on 30 fps in 2022," another player shared attaching a screenshot proving the canceled pre-order and $69.99 refund.
A number of other people also took to Twitter to say that they either already canceled or are going to cancel their per-orders for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Gotham Knights.
It is hard to say exactly how many people decided to cancel their pre-orders and it is not clear how many people who planned to purchase the game opted not to do so based on the 30FPS reveal.
