Multiresolution for surface sculpting, improved Sketch tool, and support for volumetric painting are added to the latest version.

Pilgway has released 3DCoat 2022.52. This version of the 3D toolkit introduces multiresolution for surface sculpting, which allows you to subdivide triangular meshes several times and "walk up and down" through LODS. A lower multiresolution level can be created even if it did not exist, the decimation or retopology can be used to add the lower multiresolution level.
The Sketch tool was improved to allow creating hard-surface models by drawing in three projections. You can see how the tool works in the video above.
3DCoat now also "completely" supports volumetric painting. Some surface/volume painting tools were corrected, so now curves and text work properly with PBR. The Paint room got "superpowerful, valence/density-independent screen-based color smoothing", while paint tools were added in the Sculpt room.
The update allows the automated export of multiple assets to Blender and Unreal Engine 5 without manual retopo and UV mapping. Additionally, auto-export was improved to export assets directly to Blender with PBR, center assets, export each asset to its own folder, and set custom scan depth.
3DCoat can export meshes in IGES format, although it will become a part of the paid Extra Module next year.
Other changes include improvements to UV mapping and retopology, support for ACES tone mapping, and a procedural tree generator.
3DCoat 2022 is available for €379 for individual perpetual licenses or €19.85/month for a subscription.
