Procedurally Generated Hexagon-Tiled Board in Houdini

Check out a cool game asset by Christos Stavridis.

One of the contestants of the Houdini Tech Art Challenge, Christos Stavridis, presented a game art asset that allows you to quickly generate hexagon-tiled boards.

The asset can be used in a real-time environment to set up different maps, levels, or boards. The HDA lets you tweak the landscape, scatter foliage, rocks, or custom meshes, plus you can color tiles and modify other elements. The tool also comes with the ability to unwrap UVs, plus supports different groups of elements for assigning custom materials.

This asset can be used inside any software that supports Houdini Engine for environments or landscapes. It comes with high-quality mesh options for offline rendering usage.
