PUBG Mobile Has Generated Over $8 Billion

During its lifetime, Tencent's PUBG Mobile brought the company over $8 billion. The game continues to be one of the highest-grossing mobile titles by revenue trailing only another Tencent title, Honor of Kings.

The new report from Sensor Tower reveals that during its lifetime, Tencent's PUBG Mobile brought the company over $8 billion in consumer spending across AppStore and Google Play.

The analysts note that the title is one of a few mobile games that has surpassed this mark. Among other titles that achieved an $8 billion figure are Tencent's Honor of Kings, Mixi's Monster Strike, and Supercell's Clash of Clans. 

PUBG Mobile keeps being one of the highest-grossing mobile titles by revenue trailing only another Tencent title, Honor of Kings. In the first quarter of 2022 alone, the game generated $650 million. However, at the same time, this is the lowest revenue since Q4 2020.

The firm states that 57% of PUBG Mobile's total revenue – $4.7 billion – comes from China where the title is localized as Game for Peace. Outside of China, the title generated $3.5 billion in revenue. The US market brought the game 11% of its revenue, and Turkey takes the third spot in terms of revenue delivering 4% of the game's total revenue.

In terms of the platform, 81% of consumer spending comes from App Store, while Google Play accounts for nearly 19%. Outside of China, the App Store brings about 56% of the game's revenue, and Google Play makes up around 44%.
