Xbox owners will have to enjoy 30 FPS until Performance mode is released.
The official Redfall Twitter account surprised Xbox owners by announcing that it will not be possible to enjoy the game in 60 FPS at launch as it comes with the Quality mode only. Apparently, the "60 FPS Performance mode will be added via game update at a later date."
Meanwhile, if you have an Xbox Series X, you will be able to play at 4K with 30 FPS; Xbox Series S owners can have 1440p with 30 FPS.
Naturally, people were not happy to hear it, hoping it was an April Fools' joke and suggesting companies stop rushing their games so such mundane things as decent FPS would be a standard available from day one. "People would rather wait than play something rushed that's lower quality," said user McNasty. While this also has its own issues, it's probably better than releasing a game that needs integral updates from the very beginning.
Bethesda delayed Redfall once and probably didn't want to aggravate the situation. Nevertheless, the lack of 60 FPS is something no one expected.
