Resident Evil 4 Remake Will Use Denuvo DRM

The system is considered controversial by some players.

The remake of Resident Evil 4 will be using Denuvo DRM to fight piracy, according to its Steam page.

It might sound like great news for a company that wants to protect its games, but Denuvo is quite controversial among some players mostly due to it sometimes causing performance issues. Some publishers have even removed the DRM from their games post-release.

Despite players' feedback, Denuvo keeps its position in many popular games and is planned to be used in Nintendo Switch games and DLCs as well.

Recently, more gameplay footage of the Resident Evil 4 remake was shown. Whether or not Denuvo meddles with performance in the game is to be seen after March 24, 2023, when it launches for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
