Riot is seeking a skilled Concept Art Lead to join their Singapore-based team and help shape the development of immersive fantasy worlds of Riot games.
Riot Games, the developer of popular titles like The League of Legends and VALORANT, is currently searching for a talented Concept Art Lead to join their Singapore team. The company is seeking someone with exceptional expertise, leadership skills, and a keen eye for design and storytelling to contribute to creating immersive and captivating fantasy worlds of Riot games.
The selected specialist will be responsible for building and supporting an external team, providing them with guidance and context to deliver concept art that meets industry standards and enhances the storytelling of the supported product. As part of the Riot team, they will closely collaborate with product teams and other artists to ensure that the concept designs not only exhibit artistic beauty but also effectively fulfill product and narrative objectives.
Responsibilities
- As Concept Craft lead on the team, you will oversee and be accountable for the quality of the work the team delivers and set the bar for excellence;
- You will build a world-class team by sourcing AAA Concept Art talent in China and develop and grow their concept skills through training and feedback;
- You will establish and maintain a highly engaged, creative, and motivated workspace for your team to unleash people’s potential;
- You will collaborate with Rioters in Singapore and worldwide to make sure product goals are fulfilled, and working practices are appropriate;
- You will set a clear vision and strategy to grow your team, provide consistent feedback, and build trust with your team
- Drive the development of Style Guides and Process Guides;
- Lead and improve team rituals to support high-quality craft and individual growth;
- You will accomplish your mission with complete autonomy if the need arises; you're dedicated to finding creative and effective solutions to vigilantly eliminate difficult problems.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to create high-quality concept art;
- Extreme proficiency in art fundamentals, design principles, and color theory;
- A clear understanding of and proven ability to work in the Riot's art style;
- Proven experience leading/mentoring teams and individuals. Growth minded and motivated toward teaching, enabling, and coaching other Illustrators;
- Experience giving thorough direction and delivering timely, clear, actionable feedback to other artists on craft;
- A strong communicator and able to convey abstract/sophisticated ideas in a concise way, in English or in Chinese.
