Rope & Chain Fighting Maya Animation Practice

Rotem Ninyo demonstrated how to use the reParent tool to streamline workflow.

Take a look at this impressive fluid fighting animation by Gameplay Animator Rotem Ninyo, created as a practice exercise for efficiently animating ropes and chains. The animator also briefly outlined the workflow and provided a closer look at the setup, explaining he used the reParent tool to create an IK spline over a FK chain.

"I then separated the rope into segments, as you can see in the pictures. When the rope is connected to the cylinder, I switch it to an IK spline", commented Rotem Ninyo.
