You can select all objects in the current viewport or those that can and can't be seen in it.
Miauu has released a new script for 3ds Max that allows selecting objects based on their visibility in the viewport.
There are four options:
- select all objects in the current viewport, including visible and obstructed objects;
- select all objects that can be seen in the current viewport;
- select all objects that can't be seen in the current viewport (that are behind other objects);
- you can pick some "obstacle" objects and then select all objects behind the obstacles.
Miauu warns that only geometric objects will be selected, lights, cameras, and helpers will be skipped.
Miauu's other scripts allow you to unhide hidden objects by selecting them, align the X, Y or Z axis of each of the selected objects to the direction, convert arbitrary .obj, .fbx, .3ds files and to save them as .max files, and more. You can see how they work on the author's YouTube channel.
The Select By Visibility script works with 3ds Max and 3ds Max Design 2017-2023. You can purchase it here for $5. Also, don't forget to join our Reddit page and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
