Sony Calls God Of War on PC a Success

Sony's Executive Deputy President and Chief Financial Officer Hiroki Totoki says the deployment of games on multiple platforms is a major growth opportunity for the company.

Despite its recent release on 14th January, the God Of War PC port has already sold over a million copies on Steam and become Sony's most popular game on PC. Hiroki Totoki, Sony's Executive Deputy President and Chief Financial Officer, called the game a success and said that releasing games on different platforms is a growth opportunity.

"We view the deployment of our game IP on multiple platforms as a major growth opportunity for Sony, as has been evidenced by the success of the PC versions of God of War and other first party games."

God Of War is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The PC version is a 2018 game of the franchise, originally released for PlayStation 4, which shows the story of Kratos, the former Greek God of War, and his son Atreus. The game is inspired by Norse mythology, unlike previous games, which were based on Greek mythology.
